Summer time and the bees are buzzing around our garden. The mysterious collapse of honeybee colonies is becoming a global phenomenon. From Europe to US and now China and Japan beyond there is a serious problem. It is not great news given how essential they are to our food supply. However a tiny positive story has been the amazing upsurge in small urban beekeepers. Brooklyn based farmer Megan Paska has witnessed beekeeping as it morphed from being an illegal, possibly odd habit to a sustainable, community-supported skill. For Megan it has become a way of life that has helped her find a balance.
