Crockery is a new, small collection, of ceramic tableware Max designed for the Staffordshire based company 1882. A Jug, bowl and mug in fine bone china are the beginning of what should be a very beautiful family. The process of slip-casting begins with a three-dimensional model of the design known as the ‘master’, carved by a professional model-maker, from which the production mould is cast. The masters are the image above. Crockery bypasses this process by placing the responsibility of the model-maker in the hands of Max. Using the tools of a stonemason Max chips and whittles a solid block of plaster into the forms above. We hope to have them available at Makers and Brothers soon.
