FJURA | Geranium & Coral Charm Peony
Continuing our series with Simone Gooch of Fjura, inspired by the simple idea that we provide a vessel and Simone the flowers, we present our new arrangement. Full of the promise of a new season, our Wee Jug plays host to red geraniums and a single Coral Charm peony.
The explorer Marco Polo is said to have described peonies as “roses as big as cabbages,” and the flowers can grow up to 10 inches in diameter. This Coral Charm certainly lives up to this depiction: taking centre stage, it forms a bundle of delicate peachy hues with irresistible warmth. Offset by the striking red of the geranium, this arrangement abundance of colour teeters on the edge of stability both visually and physically, maybe that is why we like it so. The handmade jug, small and solid, provides an anonymous grounding for these cheerful seasonal blooms.
"And the wind upon its way whispered the boughs of May, and touched the nodding peony flowers to bid them waken."
