FJURA | Magnolia & Quince
Simone has sent us another beautiful arrangement, a collection of blushing pink magnolia with warm buds of quince blossom. This collaboration with Fjura is soft and light, balancing the solid form of Max Lamb’s Crockery Jug.
Magnolia, rose and tulip; three large flowers, the most delicate shades of pink, variegated and soft to see. The focus, the magnolia, extends folded petals and woody buds, the epitome of homely elegance.
Gathered around, quince buds and sweet peas, tones of pink, coral and peach that warm the display and frame it with curling green tendrils.
These bold blooms need a robust base, and we think this jug by Max Lamb fits perfectly. The form comes from chipped and gouged plaster, cast in bone china that contrasts an elegant finish with the raw and textured marks of making.
"They dined on mince, and slices of quince, Which they ate with a runcible spoon; And hand in hand, on the edge of the sand, They danced by the light of the moon."
