Makers & Brothers At Home
Launching November 28th this exciting new iteration in the ongoing story of Makers & Brothers see us carefully populate a quiet wing of a glorious Georgian pile in Dublin. Amongst the traces of a refined yet dilapidated interior there will be an exciting gathering of some of our favourite local and international brands from the worlds of homeware, beauty, fashion and food.
A calm space, a welcoming place where one can explore and purchase a selection of our preferred objects of integrity. The fires will be lighting, the shelves stocked high and super seasonal food on offer from our favourite café Bibi’s. It will be our take on a more quiet, human approach to shopping this winter.
You can read more about some of those involved below.
&Daughter has a belief in provenance, as a father daughter partnership they understand that something expertly made can last a lifetime. They offer a wonderfully modern take on Aran knits all made in Ireland using only the finest yarns. They look back on heritage, not for nostalgia’s sake, but for the sake of knowledge, skill and the timelessness of great design. They create effortless knits made brilliantly well and we are very excited to be stocking their work.
Aesop, the creators of superlative products for the skin, hair and body are taking over the bathroom of Makers & Brothers At Home. We have being using their products for many years now and we love their holistic approach and the ethos of their founder in developing an intelligent creatively engaged business that genuinely looks after the body and beyond. Their full range will be exclusively available in Ireland through Makers & Brothers.
Bibi’s is a favourite cosy neighbourhood café serving breakfast, brunch and lunch. The ever changing and evolving menus are driven by creativity, innovation and the use of prime seasonal produce. For Makers & Brothers At Home they will be operating a tiny courtyard café where guests will be able to find the best, coffee, cake and grilled cheese sandwiches and more wintery seasonal treats.
Bean & Goose
Karen and Natalie Keane, sisters and craft chocolate makers. All we need to say about them is that they make the best giant slabs of single origin chocolate and have a wonderful secret recipe for a spicy hot chocolate all of which are looking forward to sharing.
Stable offers exceptional products reflective of the best of Irish traditions and skills to suit the way we live today. A new luxury brand their debut collection, exclusively available at Makers & Brothers, focuses on textiles, which are made and designed in Ireland by the best Irish artisan producers. The result is truly gorgeous, unique and generous Irish scarves.
The Informal Florist
Seasonal, relaxed, luscious arrangements. Two girls with a talent for playful gatherings of flowers and foliage. We like what they do and are excited to have them on-site making and selling elegant winter wreaths.
Haeckels is an exciting new fragrance and skin care brand with a love of natural ingredients, creativity and quality. That said ultimately their love lies in coastal living and it is this existence that drives the company. Based out of Margate, a place of raw natural beauty, they wander the coast sourcing their ingredients and finding inspiration for their fragrances.
We Are Islanders
We Are Islanders looks to reflect the necessity to look outward, not inward and to challenge accepted norms. They create collections that marry old crafts with new skills and celebrate the journey created by process and not plan. For Makers & Brothers they have created an exclusive napkin on recycled linen, the pattern of which has been inspired by the grounds around Makers & Brothers At Home and the raw colours of December foliage. Hand painted marks are achieved using a mixture of sticks and branches.
The Tweed Project
The Tweed Project will be exclusively launching their new homeware range of bed linen and blankets. A dynamic young company that is creating handmade pieces that combine beautiful Irish fabrics with modern tailoring for a truly authentic expression of Irish design. The collection is made entirely of Irish fabrics in Ireland for the world. We love what they are about and are looking forward to seeing more.
